Saline County Assessor Files Law Suit Against Saline County Commission And County Collector

Saline County Assessor Jessica Goodman has filed a law suit against the Saline County Commission and the Saline County Collector in regards to the assessors fund. The Saline County Assessor states its mandated by statute to have exclusive control of the Assessor's Fund, which consists of one percent of the certain taxes collected.


NEVADA

Fishy smell in Nevada's Lemmon Valley may lead to lower property taxes

A meeting Wednesday could lead to property taxes being lowered for some Lemmon Valley residents whose lives have been disrupted by a strong fish smell and by the light, noise and traffic issues caused by new warehouses. The original meeting for residents near Swan Lake had been planned for the Washoe County commission chambers.

A new property tax-refund program has been announced for some first responders in York County. The Board of Commissioners of York County announced Wednesday the approval of a property tax-refund program for members of fire companies and non-profit emergency medical service providers. 


TEXAS

Abbott promises to give ‘biggest property tax cut' if reelected governor

With less than one week until Election Day, Gov. Greg Abbott promised to deliver “the largest property tax cut in the history of the state” if reelected to a third term on Nov. 8. Abbott, however, did not give specifics on how or when he would implement such a property tax cut during his campaign stop at the Riviera Cocina & Cantina parking lot on Doniphan Drive in the Upper Valley on Tuesday.
