Hillsborough appraiser says tax notices will show record numbers this summer
One Hillsborough County Property appraiser said the surge in real estate values are likely to negatively impact property owners late this summer.


Rankin Co. Tax Assessor arrested for ‘rape of a person over 16′
Rankin County Tax Assessor John Sullivan has been arrested on the charge of rape of a person over 16 years old, according to Darkhorse Press. Sullivan, the longtime tax assessor, was picked up by the Mississippi Attorney General's Office.


Cost of corruption: Cuyahoga County property appraisals jumped 64% in 10 years, under Frank Russo
In the decade during which federal prosecutors say Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo was personally collecting $1.2 million from a company he paid to do appraisal work, the cost of that work jumped 64 percent.
