Tax break approved for Bailey and Wood Whiteland expansion

The Whiteland Town Council approved a $200,000 real property tax break for Bailey and Wood Financial Group last month. Wrigley Real Estate Holdings LLC, a holding company owned by Bailey and Wood, intends to construct an approximately 17,000 square foot new facility located next to the current location on Whiteland Road.

Fast-forward to today, and the U.S. is once again amid a housing boom that has set home prices out of reach for many buyers. U.S. home prices have risen 19.8% over the past year, which is more than four times greater than income growth during the same period. But this time around Texas is front and center of the surging cost in housing.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Samples, Kaufman County Tax Assessor on Thurs. May 26," read a statement, in part, from the county. "Brenda was a beloved member of our team since 2017 and will be missed."
