Tampa airport authority wins tax battle

The case involved Florida's ad valorem tax exemption claimed by about 15 businesses at the Tampa airports overseen by the authority, according to airport spokespeople. The decision, handed down July 7, reverses a lower court win by Bob Henriquez, Hillsborough County property appraiser, where the case will be sent back in favor of the airports.

Halfway through 2023, demand for data centers remains high, with 75 megawatts of leases transacted so far this year, according to new data from Cushman & Wakefield. Only 263K SF of the market's 4.4M SF total supply is available, which is driving elevated rents and utility costs.


Texas Senate passes $18B property tax bill

After weeks of delay, the Texas Senate on Tuesday unanimously passed two bills as part of its property tax relief plan. The move brings the state one step closer to passing the $18 billion package — the largest property tax relief bill in state history. “It's a great day for Texas taxpayers,” said state Sen. Paul Bettencourt, Houston Republican and lead author of the bills.
