A new report from Redfin identifies the three metros as the only in the country where the price of starter homes, defined as the 5th to 35th percentile of homes by sale price, declined year over year. Going along with that, they're also the only three metros where the income needed to purchase a starter home declined.
Assessor: Non-profits going back to being fully taxed
Tax Assessor John Pagliarini Jr. informed the City Council on Monday that he has decided to impose 100 percent taxes on nonprofit organizations that participated in a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) program. “Out of an abundance of fairness for anyone in the city who pays taxes, if the organization did not possess the proper documentation to exempt them wholly or partially, I levied 100 percent tax against them,” he explained.

Wauwatosa and Nordstrom come to an agreement in property tax lawsuit

In an agreement reached outside of court, Nordstrom will receive a $338,338 refund for the property taxes it paid over the past three years to the city of Wauwatosa. Nordstrom sued Wauwatosa in 2021 after the retail chain claimed it was charged excessive real estate taxes on its Mayfair Mall location at 2424 N. Mayfair Road.
Wyoming to Get its Third Commercial-Scale Solar Farm
Wyoming is set to have its third commercial-scale solar farm with the proposed Goshen Solar Project. The solar farm, located on 1,227 acres of private land near Yoder, would generate 163 megawatts of electricity. While some local residents, like Yoder Mayor Norman Feagler, are skeptical about the project due to concerns over the amount of land that solar farms require, developers have submitted an industrial siting application to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.
