Holly Zeilinga is an attorney whose practice is devoted exclusively to ad valorem property tax law. Since beginning her property tax career in 2020, Holly has represented commercial and residential property owners throughout the property tax appeals process, helping clients reduce their property tax burdens and achieve long-term tax savings.
Prior to joining Brusniak Property Tax Attorneys, Holly practiced property tax law in Chicago, representing clients in Cook County, Illinois, one of the nation's largest and most complex property tax systems. She appeared before the Cook County Assessor's Office, the Cook County Board of Review, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, and Illinois Circuit Courts, advocating for property owners in sophisticated valuation disputes involving commercial and residential property.
Her experience includes valuation appeals, exemptions, classification issues, and property tax incentives. She has represented clients ranging from individual homeowners to large commercial property owners and has developed a practical understanding of how assessing authorities value property, apply exemptions, and administer the property tax system. Holly works closely with clients to identify opportunities for relief and develop strategies tailored to their specific circumstances.
Holly brings nearly six years of exclusive property tax experience to Texas property owners. She joined Brusniak Property Tax Attorneys because the firm's exclusive focus on property tax law aligns with her own commitment to developing specialized expertise in this highly technical area of practice. She now assists clients throughout Texas in navigating property tax disputes and advocating for fair and accurate property valuations.
Originally from Indiana, Holly graduated from Purdue University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Management, concentrating in Finance. She then attended DePaul University College of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Business & Commercial Law Journal and earned a Certificate in Business Law before graduating in 2020. During law school, Holly also served as a judicial extern in the General Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, where she drafted bench memoranda and judicial orders involving complex commercial and equitable matters.
After relocating to Texas with her husband, daughter, and golden retriever, Holly continues her exclusive focus on property tax law and taxpayer advocacy.
Outside the office, Holly enjoys running, cooking, and exploring the Dallas area with her family.
