Texas property tax cuts help homeowners but could hurt schools later

Texans have given themselves a property tax break by diverting state tax revenues to fund public schools. But the real test comes when the next oil bust forces lawmakers to choose between funding schools and raising taxes. If history is any indication, it's the kids who will suffer.



Leana Mann Named Lone Finalist for Travis CAD Chief Appraiser
Travis Central Appraisal District
The Travis Central Appraisal District Board of Directors today named Leana Mann the lone finalist to be the District's next Chief Appraiser. Mann currently serves as the District's Deputy Chief Appraiser. Having worked with the District since 2011, Mann has previously served as a staff accountant, Finance and Facilities Director, and Deputy Chief of Operations.
