Improving daycare availability is the goal of two Dallas City Council measures approved Wednesday

Daycare received two boosts from the Dallas City Council Wednesday including a property tax abatement and some zoning changes. Childcare facilities will now receive a big tax break with a 100% city property tax abatement. The original plan was 50% but State Sen. Royce West (D-Dallas), who helped get a state constitution amendment passed that allows the tax break, visited the City Council Wednesday calling for 100%.
